DEMAND UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO END THE HIV EPIDEMIC NOW!
| THE FUNDING WE NEED FOR UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO PREVENTION, TREATMENT, CARE, AND SUPPORT FOR ALL BY 2010: Invest $2.6 billion a year in the US to fully fund Ryan White and ADAP and at least $1 billion a year for science-based HIV prevention strategies through the CDC. Lead the world community to invest $23 billion a year internationally by 2010 as recommended by UNAIDS, with the US contributing one-third each year. TREATING THE PEOPLE: UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO PREVENTION, TREATMENT, CARE, AND SUPPORT FOR THE ONE MILLION PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDSIN THE UNITED STATES BY 2010. Expand Medicaid to all needy HIV-positive people nationwide. End waiting lists for AIDS drug assistance programs. STOPPING THE SPREAD: CUT NEW US HIV INFECTIONS IN HALF BY 2010. Support the Microbicide Development Act. End the ban on needle exchange funding. No more money for abstinence-only programs. CUT NEW HIV INFECTIONS WORLDWIDE BY 25% BY 2010: Fund only proven science-based HIV prevention strategies. |
