The Friends of AIDS Foundation is a non profit organization providing vital programs and
services to those impacted by HIV/AIDS. The Foundation is a volunteer driven agency with
local, national, and international reach.
The mission of The Friends of AIDS Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for HIV
positive individuals and empower people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of
the HIV virus by delivering cutting edge programs and services to individuals regardless of
their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or lifestyle. The operating capital for the
foundation has been generated entirely through donations from the public. The Foundation
is currently pursuing a plan for a major expansion. The acquisition of a 501(c)(3) status
will allow the Foundation to receive federal, state, and local assistance, issue tax deductible
receipts for donations, and expand the scope of operations.
Creating and implementing innovative programs that enhance the quality of life for HIV
positive individuals and cutting edge programs that empower people to prevent the spread
of HIV is the hallmark of success for The Friends of AIDS Foundation. The Foundation
values serving all with passion, integrity, dignity, and respect. Among the services offered
are: HIV prevention education, collaborative testing, workshops, support groups, an online
resource directory, advocacy services, an online AIDS memorial, and a medication recycling
program that redistributes unused HIV medications to individuals who otherwise would not
have access to lifesaving treatments. Please refer to the Programs & Services section for
a complete list of programs and services that are currently offered.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation was started by Anthony Bongiorno in 2006. He began by
offering a weekly support group for those living with HIV/AIDS. The group was an instant
success; as it offered individuals an opportunity to explore their feelings and address their
concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental, and safe environment. Since its inception, the
Foundation has developed into a highly respected agency serving thousands of people
each year.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation strives to eradicate HIV/AIDS by creating awareness,
delivering the crucial message that HIV does not discriminate, and empowering people to
create the social change necessary to change the future course of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
The Foundation is committed to creating healthy futures for communities impacted by
HIV/AIDS and looks forward to continuing providing services to enhance the quality of life
for people impacted by HIV/AIDS with its resources.
